I want to be able to help them, to see that they don't ever have to go on welfare.

Then 15 years old, she dropped out of school and went on welfare.

Many are forced to go back on welfare, because they simply cannot find the child care their children need.

"I either have to go back on welfare or get some help," she said.

They needed to go on welfare to make ends meet.

"After all these years, it may just be better to go on welfare."

But neither did they expect to have to go on welfare.

She felt pretty good - maybe the best since she'd gone on welfare in 1983.

"Okay, I'm looking for a young woman who might have showed up here and gone on welfare about eight years ago."
