S3100 has a slimmer body and more scene modes than its predecessor, S3000.

The S3100 has 19 scene modes which can be accessed on the back of the camera:

About 10 scene modes, including portrait, beach, snow and landscape, are now standard in most cameras.

What is lost is the ability to take pictures in sepia, black and white, negative, etc., while a few more scene modes are gained.

It can also shoot video at 30 frames a second, and has multiple scene modes for different lighting conditions and subjects.

It comes with 1 cm macro and 15 scene modes inbuilt functions.

You also can choose from several scene modes, or you can fully control the photo by using manual settings.

Many compact cameras show a large array of scene modes.
