When reading lines of text, people do not read individual letters left to right.
First, the operator must choose the character speed, or how fast each individual letter is sent.
Yet he knew his name, the individual letters that composed it.
He must know the individual letters before he can learn to read.
And unfortunately there is no way to answer all of the individual letters that arrive.
An alternative approach which gets around this problem is to replace individual letters rather than words.
