Graduates will be prepared to function as an integral part of the diagnostic medical imaging team.

"Prepare to be amazed," Dr. Carolyn Porco, head of the mission's imaging team, said in an interview last week.

"My prediction was correct," said Dr. Torrence V. Johnson, a member of the imaging team.

Porco is a member of the imaging team for the New Horizons mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt.

However, the imaging team did capture views of the distinctive, wispy fractures on the side of Dione that always trails in its orbit around Saturn.

"There's no mystery why it didn't turn on," says one scientist on the imaging team, who was upset by the loss.

The imaging team is based at the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colo.

Once qualified, diagnostic radiographers are able to acquire X-rays without supervision and work as part of the imaging team.

Often on space shots, teams come into conflict: a radio team might want one telemetry to measure a planet's mass while an imaging team wants another for high-resolution pictures.
