Prices of better-quality issues in the high-yield market moved higher yesterday.

The firm's share has consistently been higher than 40 percent since the high-yield market became a significant means of financing in the mid-1980's.

Other factors should also contribute to a strong high-yield market, he said.

"The high-yield market is extremely attractive at this point," he said.

The high-yield market saw only $51 billion in a total of 250 new issues last year, down 15 percent from 1988.
