The linear or lance-shaped leaves are up to 8 centimeters long low on the stem and smaller on the distal branches.

Dendritic spikes most commonly propagate backwards from the soma to distal dendritic branches.

The mental nerve, which supplies cutaneous innervation to the anterior lip and chin, is a distal branch of the inferior alveolar nerve.

The anterior branch may break up into a number of secondary branches, but commonly it forks into two distal branches.

It receives its blood supply primarily from lateral and distal branches of the radial artery.

Higher-order dendrite branch complexity is increased in enriched environments, as can the length, in young animals, of distal branches.

Disadvantages of MRA are that it is a very expensive procedure, and may produce poor images for distal branches and aortic calcification.

Species differentiation is based on the structure of the spicules which usually have three distal branches (Fig. 8).

Microscopic: A small cephalic vesicle is present and the spicules resemble Ostertagia, but have only two distal branches.

The bladder traps take the place of some of these distal branches on the leaf-like structures.
