The islet contains dry grasslands and rocky coastlines.

Much of the mountains are grassy and rocky but they contain some forests in the area as well as grasslands to the west, the south and the east.

Lumby is wetter and cooler than Vernon, but is still dry enough to contain natural grasslands, especially on south facing slopes.

Kryonero has several valleys around the area, which also contains forests, grasslands, farmlands and bushes.

This ecoregion also contains meadows, foothill grasslands, riverside woodlands, and tree line/alpine zone communities.

The refuge consists of two sections which contains open water, edge wetlands, grasslands and riparian and forest habitats.

The highest areas of the region contain alpine grasslands as well.

This 360 square kilometre nature reserve contains bushveld, grasslands, marsh and riparian habitats.

The islet contains dry grasslands and rock ledges that elevate up to 40 m. Its length and width is around 150 metres.

The lagoon is surrounded by a region containing coconuts, open forests, grasslands and shrublands.
