Awarded membership in the Society of Fellows, he was eventually appointed to a Harvard lectureship.
Following his year at Stanford, Hall went back to Harvard, where he spent three years in the Society of Fellows.
Lowell designed the Society of Fellows as an alternative to the Ph.D.
Between 1975 and 1978, he was a Junior Fellow with the Society of Fellows at Harvard University.
A number of members are also distinguished in the Society of Fellows of the Association.
He is currently a professor at Harvard University and a senior fellow at the Society of Fellows.
Upon graduation (1962) he received a Fulbright Fellowship, and in 1963 was appointed to the Society of Fellows.
He then went to Harvard University, where he was a member of the Society of Fellows between 1973 and 1976.
He was President of the Scripps' Society of Fellows in 1987.
While at Harvard, Berg was a junior fellow in the Society of Fellows.
