Quartet West (Verve, 1986)

Quartet West is an album by the American jazz bassist Charlie Haden recorded in 1986 and released on the Verve label.

Both songs surfaced in Tuesday night's late set at the Blue Note, where Quartet West is appearing this week.

During the 1990s Broadbent was part of Charlie Haden's "Quartet West."

Quartet West was formed in 1986.

A concert tour with Quartet West (with a new drummer) took place in the late summer of that year.

Mr. Haden, above, a bassist who first made a name for himself playing with Ornette Coleman, formed Quartet West 20 years ago.

He might be best known for his work with Charlie Haden's Quartet West and his Grammy Awards as an instrumentalist.

He was invited to join bassist Charlie Haden's Quartet West.
