Distinguished Investigator Award, Research Society on Alcoholism (2002)

The Early Investigator Award, created to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of experimental psychology early in their careers.

In 2011 he was awarded an inaugural Senior Investigator Award by the Wellcome Trust.

Presidential Young Investigator Award (1984-1989)

Presidential Young Investigator Award, National Science Foundation, 1986.

There he received an Established Investigator Award of the American Heart Association.

In 1999, he received an Investigator Award in Health Research Policy from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Dr. Bailey was the recipient of the Senior Investigator Award from the Canadian Society for Clinical Pharmacology (2005).

He was recently awarded one of the first 100 Senior Investigator Awards from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
