In 2003, she received the California Council on Teacher Education Distinguished Teacher Educator Award.

The Sleep Research Society has since renamed the award the Mary A. Carskadon Outstanding Educator Award.

Received the 2008 Mary A. Carskadon Outstanding Educator Award from the Sleep Research Society.

In 2009 he received the Karl V. Karlstrom Outstanding Educator Award from the ACM.
