It is used to vaporize the tissue to the prostatic capsule.

In Stage III, the tumor has spread through the prostatic capsule and the lump can be felt on the surface of the gland.

Some antibiotics have very poor penetration of the prostatic capsule, others, such as Ciprofloxacin, Co-trimoxazole and tetracyclines penetrate well.

T3: the tumor has spread through the prostatic capsule (if it is only part-way through, it is still T2)

The prostatic veins form a well-marked prostatic plexus which lies partly in the fascial sheath of the prostate and partly between the sheath and the prostatic capsule.

There is also evidence for the presence of periprostatic ganglia and capsular ganglia respectively outside and inside the prostatic capsule [ 4 ] but not much is known about their pharmacology or function.

Those tests would be appropriate in such cases as when a CT scan evaluates spread within the pelvis, a bone scan look for spread to the bones, and endorectal coil magnetic resonance imaging to closely evaluate the prostatic capsule and the seminal vesicles.
