negative accommodation

The policy of harm reduction is a policy of negative accommodation.

A more recent series of studies have proposed that such flashes may be caused by "negative accommodation" (i.e. an active flattening of the lens by the ciliary muscles).

The function of the canal is to provide an adjustable reservoir of mobile liquid which may be easily and rapidly displaced backwards in positive accommodation (close focusing), forwards in negative accommodation (far focusing).
