junctional tachycardia

Junctional tachycardia is an automatic tachycardia originating in the AV junction.

Atrioventricular origin (junctional tachycardia):

Junctional tachycardia is a form of supraventricular tachycardia characterized by involvement of the AV node.

Among them are paroxysmal atrial tachycardia, paroxysmal junctional tachycardia, auricular tachycardia and nodal tachycardia.

This can occur if the junction suddenly wakes up, and begins to generate a rate that is a little faster than the one from the SA node (junctional tachycardia).

On the ECG, junctional tachycardia often presents with abnormal morphology P-waves that may fall anywhere in relation to a regular, narrow QRS complex.
