It introduces a clause for the exhaustion of stocks of products no longer conforming to the directive.

Fishing is vital for securing world food supplies. All fisheries must be subject to stringent rules so as to pre-empt the exhaustion of stocks and halt the continued threat to biological diversity.

NB - the Commission have informed Brazil that MS will accept the large guilloche pattern until exhaustion of stocks, but in the future a model more closely resembling that of forms printed in the Community must be used.
