endometrial implant

Endometrial implants or scar tissue (adhesions) interferes with the functions of other abdominal organs.

Surgical treatments range from removing only the endometrial implants by means of laparoscopy to removing the uterus and ovaries.

The endometrial implants may change the chemical and hormonal makeup in the fluid that surrounds the organs in the abdominal cavity (peritoneal fluid).

The Endometrial implants that grow into the wall of the uterus bleed during menstruation, (the same as endometrial tissue bleeds) is discharged vaginally as menstrual bleeding.
