drip loop

Have a check valve and/or drip loop to prevent water from getting into electrical outlets when the power returns.

This is called a "drip loop" and prevents water from running down the cord into electrical sockets.

Electrical equipment should be placed above water level whenever possible, and drip loops should always be used.
