Journeyman Certificate

This certification is comparable to being awarded a Journeyman Certificate in a trade and is the equivalent of the official Apprenticeship designation.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Journeyman Certificate in Heavy Equipment Operation and a demonstrated ability to operate a grader and excavator.

Graduates can complete an apprenticeship that includes an Alberta Journeyman Certificate as an Automotive Service Technician and an Interprovincial Standards Red Seal.

For example, in Quebec, it is called Competency Certificate, in Alberta, it is a Journeyman Certificate. For the purpose of this study, the generic title Trade Certificate will be used.

After graduating From NorQuest College in Edmonton in 2001, I entered the Pre-trade program then attended Northern Alberta Institute of Technology for Truck-Trailer Journeyman Certificate in spring 2002.
