Dashanpu Formation

In addition to dinosaur finds, many other prehistoric finds have been uncovered from the Dashanpu Formation.

The Dashanpu Formation has produced mainly sauropods, but has also held numerous other dinosaur types, such as theropods and stegosaurians amongst others.

Leshansaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur from the Mid to Late Jurassic Dashanpu Formation of what is now China.

Indeed, Gasosaurus was found in the same formation as Kaijiangosaurus, the Lower Shaximiao Formation section of the Dashanpu Formation.

The Dashanpusaurus holotype was unearthed in the Sichuan, China township of Dashanpu, in a Jurassic formation called the Shaximiao Formation, which in turn is part of the larger Dashanpu Formation.
