Brussels Convention

The 1957 Brussels Convention claimed that the limitation was restricted:

It is extremely short. It is: 'request the European Council clarify the scope of the 1968 Brussels Convention'.

Recognition and enforcement of judgements in civil and commercial cases was originally accomplished within the European Communities with an international convention: the 1968 Brussels convention.

The same thing applies to the amendment seeking to open up the system laid down in the Brussels Convention on jurisdiction clauses in consumer contracts. I am referring here to Article 17.
