Chapel of the Holy Shroud

Like all mysteries in Italy, the cause of the fire in the Chapel of the Holy Shroud has produced several elaborate theories.

His dome over the Chapel of the Holy Shroud (1667-90) in Turin is supported by six stacked hexagonal layers of six arches each, arranged such that each layer of arches spring from the peaks of the arches in the layer below them.

The Chapel of the Holy Shroud, with its spiral dome, was built in the west wing of the palace, joining the apse of the cathedral of St. John the Baptist, to house the famous Shroud of Turin which belonged to the family from 1453 until 1946.
